Infrastructure / SRE Engineer

We are looking for a hands-on Infrastructure / Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to help scale and maintain our growing distributed network infrastructure.

In this role, you will focus on Linux-based systems, infrastructure automation, high-throughput networking, and production reliability. Working closely with our Engineering team, you will help improve infrastructure performance, automate processes, and support the deployment of new locations. This is a great opportunity for an engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and working with real-world infrastructure.

Who Are We

Working with businesses and network operators worldwide, IPXO supports more efficient IP resource management while promoting transparency and responsible use of Internet Protocol resources. The company actively participates in the global Internet infrastructure community and works toward a more sustainable IP ecosystem.

In This Position You Will

  • Provision, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux bare-metal servers and, where applicable, VMs/VPS.
  • Implement infrastructure and platform improvements in collaboration with existing technical leads.
  • Automate server provisioning, configuration management, and location deployment processes to reduce manual work.
  • Improve deployment, validation, canary testing, and rollback workflows.
  • Support the rollout of new infrastructure locations using established standards and procedures.
  • Perform load and capacity testing to assess throughput, concurrent connections, CPU, memory, and network performance.
  • Troubleshoot Linux systems, application performance, and network connectivity issues.
  • Improve monitoring, alerting, and dashboards, and support the implementation of agreed SLOs.
  • Maintain and improve operational documentation, incident response procedures, and recovery guidelines.
  • Coordinate infrastructure-related issues with bare-metal, colocation, and connectivity providers.
  • Participate in agreed incident support and scheduled out-of-hours infrastructure changes after onboarding.
  • Document completed work and share technical knowledge with the Engineering team.

We Expect That You Have

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in SRE, Infrastructure Engineering, DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Linux Systems Engineering.
  • Strong Linux administration, configuration, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, L4/L7 networking, and connection lifecycle.
  • Experience automating infrastructure using Python, Go, or shell scripting, together with Ansible, Terraform/OpenTofu, or similar tools.
  • Experience working with Git and CI/CD-based deployment or configuration workflows.
  • Practical experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, or equivalent.
  • Ability to identify and troubleshoot CPU, memory, disk, and network performance bottlenecks.
  • Experience supporting production environments, handling incidents, and following escalation and rollback procedures.
  • Strong written and spoken English.
  • Ability to work independently on defined tasks, communicate proactively, and document technical solutions.

    Nice to have:
  • Experience with advanced Linux networking, including policy routing, nftables, network namespaces, or eBPF.
  • Knowledge of high-availability and load-balancing technologies such as IPVS, keepalived, or ECMP.
  • Experience with high-speed networking (10/25/100G), multi-queue NIC tuning, or NUMA.
  • Familiarity with Envoy or other high-performance networking solutions.
  • Experience with bare-metal infrastructure, colocation environments, provider APIs, and remote-hands services.
  • Understanding of BGP and experience collaborating with Network Engineering teams.
  • Experience with PKI, mTLS, and certificate lifecycle automation.
  • Background in CDN, hosting, telecom, ISP, VPN, edge infrastructure, or network-security platforms.
